Getting Started with Guard Guru

To become a Security Guard or Private Investigator in Ontario, complete COURSE and pass the provincial exam. Once successful, you’ll receive your respective license.

Purchase and complete ourCOURSE, obtain a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate, and then register for the Ontario Security Guard Licence Exam using the Training Completion Number (TCN) we provide. The passing mark is 62% (37/60). If unsuccessful, you can retake the test, but each attempt requires a separate fee.

The duration varies depending on the individual. Some trainees can complete the course and be ready for the exam in as little as three days, while others might take longer. Our courses are designed to cater to your learning pace.

First Aid Training

If you possess a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate, email us a copy. Otherwise, enroll in our COURSE, and we’ll arrange your class. Approved First Aid training providers can be found on the Workplace Safety Insurance Board website.

Certificates and Numbers

Absolutely! Guard Guru grants all graduates an official Training Certificate, detailing the student’s name, training entity, training type, completion date, and the signature of our representative.

Upon completing our Security Guard course, Guard Guru team processes and emails your TCN, which is essential for booking your online exam. More details can be found on Serco’s website.

Renewals and Updates

Yes, licenses expire two birthdays after Applying for the license. Renewal applications can be found on Service Ontario’s website.

For security reasons, you must notify the ministry in writing of any address changes. This can be done online.
